The Tukapa Street area is an important part of New Plymouth with unique values. We are reviewing how safe and accessible this street is for residents and looking at how the area can be improved to better suit the needs of the community.  

This starts with a conversation with you. 

We’d like to hear your thoughts on things like what makes Tukapa Street (between Morley Street and Wallath Road in Westown) and the surrounding area popular, what are the main access and safety issues you experience, where can we make improvements and how can we better connect the area and make this a great place to live and visit.  

Your feedback will be used to shape the future look and feel of this important area.

How to drop a pin  

1. Select the map on the left-hand side menu that you’d like to comment on. There are three maps we are looking to get your thoughts on: community aspirations, streetscape improvements and business upgrades. 
2. Drag and drop a marker (sitting at the top of the page) onto the map in the location you are interested in. There are two marker types – ‘ideas and suggestions’ and ‘something I like’. 
3. Once you drop the marker on the map, a box will pop up for you to leave a comment. 
4. You can also view, comment and like or dislike other comments, ideas and suggestions that have been left on the map.
